Homeschool SmARTist Studio

Join us for art lessons and creative exploration in this art class just for homeschoolers! We provide an excellent supplement to your current homeschool curriculum as an art enrichment program.

Students ages 7-17 will enjoy a structured lesson in various levels of study in each class where we will use a monthly focus medium.

Two ways to participate:

Drop-in Session: Attend drop-in individual sessions to learn techniques and practice skills. Anything done in a drop-in session must be completed and taken home the same day.

Course:  Register for the 4-week course to learn the process and create detailed projects that are worked on each session until completed. Projects may be kept at the studio until finished and will be picked up at the end of each month.

SmARTists who return each month will have the chance to work with different types of art mediums with guidance and instruction. We are student focused and encourage individual creative thinking and design work during the learning process also.

We explore various mediums such as:

• Drawing - Graphite, Colored Pencil, Charcoal, Pastel, Ink, Marker

• Painting - Watercolor Tube and Pan type, Acrylics on Canvas, Paper, and Wood

• Sculpture - Polymer Clay, Paper and Board. Earthenware Clay handbuilding and pottery wheel throwing

• Mixed Media - Using a mixture of mediums to make dimensional or layered artwork as well as work on special projects including fiber art such as crochet or weaving

• Creative Thinking - Understanding the creative process, exploring different viewpoints for perspective, thinking outside of the box

Basic Materials included. Students are welcome to bring in their own supplies if they wish to use their own materials during the process.

*PLEASE NOTE: Pre-Registration is required. Drop-ins must be booked online or by phone prior to arrival. Course class meets each week for four consecutive weeks. Each class session is 1-1/2 hours long, but you may arrive late or leave early as your schedule requires.
