Drawing Illustration Course

This drawing class is for those who wish to learn basic principles of drawing and the illustration process. This course focuses on how to sketch initial designs, draw in perspective, and illustration techniques with step-by-step instruction. Students ages 8 and up will learn techniques using graphite pencil, colored pencil, ink pen, and alcohol markers. No experience is necessary as this class is perfect for beginners or anyone needing a refresher in drawing fundamentals.

• Subject Perspective design
• Portrait and Manga style composition guides
• Shading and detail tips

We will be working on a collection of exercises and studies for practice throughout the course. Students will be designing their own composition while learning how to draw Portraits, Backgrounds, and Illustration subjects such as their favorite place and favorite character or person. By the end of the course students will have attempted to finish at least one complete drawing of the subject of their choice.

Meets: Once a week for 4 weeks
