Beginner Acrylic Painting Course
This 3-week course will guide you through starting to paint with acrylics on canvas to learning all of the tools and techniques that will help you successfully create your own masterpiece. Great for beginners or anyone who wishes to have assistance with practice and techniques in acrylic paint.
This class for ages 10+ and adults will explore different styles of painting which include: Abstract, Cubism, Pop Art, Impressionist, Painterly, Pointillism and Realism. We will also study Still Life, Landscape, and Portrait subjects.
What you will learn:
- Introduction to tools and materials
- Mixing Acrylic paints to make your own colors
- Brushes and brushstroke techniques
- Design composition assistance
- Perspective and Shading basics
- Layering for final details
By the end of this course you will understand how to use Acrylic Paints using different methods based on the outcome you wish to achieve in your painting. You will also be able to create an artwork piece of your own design and complete a finished piece to take home.
Length: 1-1/2 hour session
Meets: Once a week consecutively for 3 weeks as scheduled
Supplies: All materials included. You may bring your own tools if preferred.
